In this video I am Prospecting on Canyon creek a tributary of the Lewis River, that drains into Lake Merwin in Clark county.
I was up there the other weekend and the road was washed out from a nice size landslide.
I came back midweek to avoid the crowds.
Found a little color, would have like to find more but what do they say? well I will tell ya, a bad day gold panning is better then a good day at work lol.
My batteries died or I would have had more, Maybe next time I will remember to bring extra batteries like I do most of the time.

  • Hey ED, its me again, I think you are doing a fine job. Im thinking the slide area you are working is the one that took out the road? They rebuilt that part so im assuming its a few miles upstream past the bridge at fly cr? Would really like to pick you for info and get headed in the right direction, thanks! Im up on the NorthFork Siouxon cr. today!

  • @kevinford61

Hey Kevin, thanks man. Yeah that slide is that one big one about a mile and a half or so past fly creek.

I was there last summer while I was home for my son's wedding, saw they fixed the road. how did you do up north on NF Siouxon cr?

  • Looks like a good spot for a small back hoe & trommel.

I am not a geologist or ever claimed to be one, I just like it and other earth sciences. I am wrong as often as I am right. I just try to imply what I think might be the reasons and call it from there, take a some what educated guess and go from there. I do know this though, that is a landslide area and that is not all glacial til and those strata's are old stream channels.

I am always learning and that is on my own. Thanks for watching, sorry you did not like it.

  • You are a bad geologist. However, thanks for video.

  • @tdz61 Hi Ed Well it's stil very wet here so take your time diggen arrow heads.

The rivers are working for us so they may give up some more treasure this summer.. Seeya Old99Hag

  • @old99hag Well I would enjoy going out prospecting with ya if and when you where in that area, But at this time I am back east in the Midwest..

So now I am doing a little prospecting for Glacial deposits in Ohio and hunting for arrow heads...

I can't wait to get back home to GOD's Country... the great PNW...
