I hate that mandoline thing, it cut my finger big time. Still waiting for a better designed product.

Use the guard, but the man speaks the truth: I used to work in a professional kitchen and NOBODY used the guard. People were cutting themselves all the time. :)

i love fennel soo much! its soo crunchy and crispy and watery.. especially when its cold its just so fresh and perfect in every way!
i can live solely off fennel!
