I agree, but why does chicken taste so good but then, as does beef, bacon, Also b12 is an important part of the diet.

@jimmytube177 Hey Jimmy. Regarding taste, consider the fact that meat does NOT taste good until you process it somehow - cook it, season it, whatever. When was the last time you ate plain raw meat? Also, the taste of a food is not the only indicator of whether it's appropriate.
Regarding B12, the majority of meat eaters on the planet are B12 deficient, including people eating all raw, grass-fed, organic animal products, so obviously something's wrong here.

@RawFoodFreedom : Taste is secondary to survival. Our paleolithic ancestors ate meat prior to the discovery of fire (and cooking) and development of hunting weapons. I've eaten raw meat/fish and yes it doesn't begin to taste good until we cook it and/or season it.

@auggiedoggy Hey auggiedoggy, I agree that taste is not the only relevant factor, but I only have so many characters in a Youtube comment. I also agree that eating meat was historically important to the survival of the species due to food scarcity. However, the time frame we've eaten meat in has clearly not been sufficient for biological adaptation, as we still have the anatomy of a frugivore, not a carnivore. Long intestinal tract, no sharp teeth, stereoscopic vision, among many other things.

@RawFoodFreedom : And the timeframe eating foods like grains and legumes is *drastically* shorter. Actually, homo habilis ,non-hunter, scavenger and the earliest known in the genus Homo, ate meat although probably only in small amounts. meat-eating is believed to pre-date even H. habilis. We certainly aren't meat-eating machines like true carnivores but we have developed over the last 2.5-3 million years the digestive system to handle a wide variety of foods, including meat.

@auggiedoggy Auggiedoggy, how have you concluded that we've adapted to process meat? I think it's pretty obvious if you look at the health meat-eaters generally experience that we're better off eating plants. Also, if you check out my site you'll see that I don't advocate grain/legume eating as optimal, though I think they're clearly superior foods to flesh, since they are higher in carbs and contain antioxidants, phytonutrients, and bioflavonoids, all of which are deficient in animal foods.
