  • The nice part is that very few worms come though the wire. Because of the tumbling action, they tend to roll and roll and not come through the wire.

  • Oh yes, the tape is some sort of metal duct tape.

  • Martha, thanks for the comments. The string was my 10 year old son's idea, you know how that goes. Lucky for me, the box and brown paper just fit. I think a blanket would be too sticky. Tarp would work though.

  • Thanks for the new ideas that's what I'm looking at.. if a part of the worm comes through the wire the roller could crush the worm.. thanks for the video..

  • Love the design, is that duct tape hold it to the plastic rim of bucket? I believe a tarp or a old bed spread would do better to catch the compost, and I would just turn the tumbler by hand not with a string... my 2cents take or leave :-) thanks for sharing this!
