He's right about video to an extent but is sorely wrong about audio. Go ask any audiophile or anyone with high end audio and they will laugh at cheap cabling.

@guineapiggyman they arent all the same. some are made to a different specification than others. also, you do have to take into account the durability just a little bit. you dont want it breaking off and leaving the end inside of your tv

@lazercannoncheck not everyone wants to buy an hdmi cable from some shady guy online.

@jasonbring i would like to buy your cables because i like your honesty. you arent trying to bullshit us with all these selling techniques. i bought one of your hdmi to dvi cables from walmart.com. i already have all the hdmi cables i need but i could always use something different like a dvi to hdmi

@jasonbring i learned so much from this vid. my dad and i were buying a new tv and he came up to the register with 2 $80 hdmi cables and he was HELLBENT that these were the top of the line and better than the ones i use for my xbox and ps3. He grew up in the day when you used TV antennas and you screwed those into the tv. so i convinced him to buy 1 hdmi cable and i would show him the difference between my hdmi cable and the new one. he couldnt tell the difference. i returned it.

You are talking about HDMI cables, at least make your video 720p :)))

@AngulFever99 not until you get into 3D... then there is a difference
For 3D TV you now need the latest version of HDMI which supports Ethernet and 3D. This is the 1.4V. You can find good deals on these at whatacable com website.

If you have a composite (yellow RCA video) on your TV, you could use a PC to TV converter. It will allow an older VGA laptop to connect to a TV with composite RCA. If your TV only has HDMI, you will need a VGA to HDMI converter box. Both are found online ranging from $50-$100. Good luck!

I never said that quality didn't matter. If you don't meet the current HDMI 1.4V standards, then of course you won't get the same quality. BUT if you have a certified High Speed with Ethernet 1.4V (as of Nov. 2011) then you do not need to pay more for anything extra because this will support the specifications of any device or TV on the market.

You probably won't see any difference with most cables but I recommend sticking to a 1.4V high spped HDMI cable now since that is the standard. Go to whatacable for a great cable at a great price.

More gold doesn't matter as long as you already latest HDMI cable. Having an HDMI compliant high-speed 1.4V cable (as of August 2011) you can't improve speed by adding more gold to the cable because you've already met the highest performance required by the gaming system. The cable is like a pipe. Making a bigger pipe doesn't mean more water will run through it unless the source sends more water. i.e. the gaming system. Today there is not a gaming system requiring higher speed than 1.4V.
