After the latest Maemo 51-1 over-the-air update, Openoffice.org will run much more quickly on your Nokia N900 Maemo5 device! Now it's really swift and usable. See the video... You're ready to work in 50 secs.
Kudos to Qole who's the developer behind easy debian for Maemo!

  • It's a Swatch, can't specify which model

  • It'r "Easy Debian" - search for it on talk.maemo.org

  • Nope it's not vnc. It's the real debian arm port of openoffice on the maemo 5 device. Now, after overclocking to 950 MHz, it's even faster.

  • so ... 50 secs is quick? I really don't want to know what slow was then ...

  • slow is more than five minutes (like it was before the first os upgrade) ;)

For my use case 50 secs to be able to have a full-fledged and usable office suite on my mobile device is *quick*.

Of course, the shorter the better...

  • How can we enable the default gnome theme to the desktop?

  • I have no idea. Be aware that the windows manager is lxde, not gnome, however.

  • What wristwatch that you wear?its nice

  • OpenOffice is really a big and probably bloated piece of software. I'd suppose using Abiword and Gnumeric, which are much lighter, instead.

  • it takes about 30 seconds on my macbook pro, so for this device i dont think thats just quick, i think its blazing!

  • oh man. it's like a netbook+phone. imagine what the next get version will be like.

  • @Vlaxiti yes it is to ur device bcuz it can fry it so I don't recommend doing it

  • what operating system or desktop modification is that?

  • is overclocking dangerous ? have u got any malnfuctions so far?
