I tried to make it look like the movie battle scene so i didn't include elephants in this one, but i will do another with elephants shortly. I made it look similar to the angle formation that Alexander the Great used against Darius III of Persia. Not evrything went as planned, but most of it did :)

  • @Suppressingfire yeah, no problem, of course you can't be that accurate with RTW. :D

it's a cool video anyway!!!!! thumbs up!

I was just trying to make it a bit more clear :P

  • @dpsantos1994 i get it, but there r many different variations on what & where alexander deployed his units so here i just made it roughly. Yes alexander had even auxiliaries in the rear but if i kept on deploying more units on alexander's side then i would end up my army as big as the persians.

  • @Suppressingfire He had the professional heavy cavalry from Thessaly (thessalian cavalry - equally armed as the companions), to prevent a persian envelopment. the six (i think) phalanx battalions then started to move into Darius' left, while Parmenion stood his ground, opening a gap between the main army and the left, the only thing holding the gap was the rear phalanx of greek hoplites Alexander usually deployed behind. All hypaspists were on the right flank, as usual in any battle....

  • kill them all
