Here is the original reel to reel tape I made in front of the T-V back in 1965.Boris does a bit of Monster Mash and then Ted Cassidy introduces a new dance as Lurch.

Yes, I remember that the Monster Mash came after Jim Dovale and the Gauchos, about where your part 1 of the show you posted ends. It was before Boris did the Pepermint Twist. I'm happy I could make this available...John

Why do I remember this if the clip was lost so long ago? I couldn't have been that old but I swear it seems like I have sen this way back before cable was little more than an idea.

One book on novelty songs said that Karloff sang Monster Mash. But he claimed that he didn't lisp like Bobby did. Thanks for posting this. The book also said that Rudy Vallee recorded Winchester Cathedral. His version is available online. Too bad Boris' performance from Shindig wasn't better preserved. By the way, the guy who played Tony the Tiger sang in the Grinch special.

Boris Karloff did numerous vinyl records, and a year after this "Shindig" episode, he won a Grammy for his recording of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas!" It's a shame that this song was not recorded at the same time...

You should re-,make your video with the tape deck patched directly to your sound card! This is a total rarity! I remember the show itself, and it's amazing that you have the audio portion. Cheers!

I guess I was having a senior moment on this one. Ted Cassidy's performance was on SHIVAREE.
