@copyryan It would only be awkward if it were a BAD cover. This is an excellent cover, so there isn't anything inappropriate about recording a song that doesn't "fit" a specific genre. While every band has their limits, doing some classic rock obviously isn't beyond Gomez's limits!

@copyryan Funny because I love this cover of Cripple Creek.. first time I've heard of "Gomez" (is that the band or the singer?) so maybe my ears are not as jaundiced as others.

I am a big fan of both Gomez and The Band. Both are among my favorites. But this is truly unfortunate and is not an okay version of this song. (In my opinion) It's junk and it's just not appropriate for a Brit-pop band to be performing this tune on a tribute to The Band. It's awkward compared to the original and it makes me sad.
