@ForViewingOnly Funny thing is that when it was ported to the Commodore Amiga, that bum note is there, too.
-
@MendelsonShape I know it's a classic orchestral piece, but that one note is so obviously wrong that somebody at the software house would have spotted it and fixed it. This makes me think the bum note was put in purposely, and there's a chance that it would have been done for legal reasons. This was the dawn of computer games, and there might have been less royalties to pay to the original game designer if the music was different from the original. Just a guess, I'd like to know the real reason.

@ForViewingOnly The music is "The Hall of the Mountain King". It's royalty free - Matthew Smith does not own the publishing rights. I agree though, why put a bum note in it?

The legend that is double M! I remember smashing my joystick against the wall playing this crap. THE FRUSTRATION ALMOST KILLED ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

a! Eugine's Lair!! yeh!
Playing Manic Miner on anything other than a ZX Spectrum feels like cheating on my girlfriend. It just feels wrong somehow.

Hearing that one wrong note in the background music over and over again is driving me mad. There must be a reason for it being in there... probably to avoid infringing on copyright or to avoid paying game creator Matt Smith his royalties!
