For all of you that are hating on the US version, it was meant to be relatable to poor/working class AMERICAN families. My family is a lot like this. And this is one of the only shows on TV now that I can relate with. I have seen the UK version too. It's really good! But this Shameless has to relate to Americans because it airs here. And I know so many families like this.

@20Dave10 by the way Frank becomes more of the star character in later series's but there's other great character in it as well so it's not all just based around Frank

@20Dave10 it's based on the UK version but it's no were near as good try the UK version if you haven't seen it hopefully you'll get the humor and you'll enjoy it )) in the UK version Frank is pretty much always drunk and he's a more likeable character and he's nice to his kids not like this Frank who seems constantly angry, I seen the US version tonight and well lets just say I wasn't keen on it

lmfao a real AMERICAN FAMILY my arse, Shameless is based on the English culture of pubs drugs clubs and sex! the show is scripted exactly the same! and yanks say brittish humour is dry? then why are they buying our shows and remaking them word for word scene for scene! accent isnt everything!
