@AECEntertainment If you appreciate a 'gorgeously powerful organ' then you will really enjoy 'Organ Moods John Winters at the Mighty Wurlitzer' that I uploaded last year, look at uploads on my channel (click my name). John actually does a version of The Lost Chord. I play organ myself and aspire to some day be as fluent and stirringly passionate as Mr. Winters on this album. John played organ daily for over 40 years for radio and television.
Thank you. I heard this song when I was made monitor in grade school. I was to choose from the classical music to play befor the prayer and the pledge to the flag. I started in the beginning of the 3rd grade until the end of the 8th grade. I was chosen because I was the only one that liked the classics.
@cambridgegarcon Sorry I offended you (and Sir Arthur). I like most of his compositions but not this one. My favorite rendition of the song is the one by Dame Clara Butt.

Somewhere, in my parents attic, there are 78's of John McCormack ---they had belonged to my grandmother.

Webster Booth was indeed a fine singer.HIS version of " O how beautiful they are" is out standing but there was only one John McCormack.

Unlike meltzerboy, I love this song and John McCormack's voice makes me weep. Thanks a lot for posting it.

I agree and IMO it is better than Webster Booth's performance. But even McCormack cannot elevate by much this dreadful song.
