@flnielsen if you read my comment correctly, you can see I said Gary Numan is the creator/maker of this song. I was making a comment to someone else who thought NIN made the song. I was informing them they were mistaken. I am well aware of who Gary Numan is, and of his music and when it was made. Maybe you should leave that comment for the person who actually thought metal was made by NIN.

@midwesternstylng Well, it was recorded at the John Peel sessions and aired on radio in 1979, so it doesn't make sense to claim, that it sounds "influenced"by NIN's version; NIN didn't even exist at the time.

I love all his smoky eye makeup in this pic! He's one of the few older men who can work all that black eye make up and look good. Bowie is definitely one of them and I guess Alice Cooper. But I love Alice's music but he's just not hot to me.

John Peel is a GOD. And so is Gary Numan. Lovely version :) I BEG all of you that stumbled across this to listen to Garny Numan's catalog.....you'll fall in love with his sci-fi lyrics and genius arrangements...i promise you!

At first, I thought the quirky nature of the original was ruined, this version was kinda dark, but it turned out awesome. 2 thumbs up.
