Brief info:
The story is about the love / life of a girl and a boy and their family between 1926 - 1946
In 1926, a teenage girl named かをる falls with a boy named 惣吉 whose family, status etc is completely different from her. Their love is opposed by かをる's father who want his daugther to get married with a man who is also doing the same family industry. After lots of obstacles, かをる and 惣吉 finally became couples several years later
However, 惣吉 had an accident one day, he falls into the sea and disappeared in the waves. Everybody thought that he had died. かをる was very sad and had a miscarriage ... After 2 years, かをる re-married to another man and had a new family after giving birth to a twins
Actually 惣吉 didn't die, he was saved and was in Philippines, but he lost all his memory, he can't even remember his own name. One day, he was back to Japan and was met by かをる's sister. It was already 4 years after the accident
惣吉 was recovered with かをる's help, but the love triangle is really a burden to all parties. かをる still had 惣吉 in her mind but it is a destiny, she can't leave her now-husband, her sons ... 惣吉 decided to quit this triangle to stop giving burdens to かをる
かをる asked 惣吉 to remarry with another one and forget her, but 惣吉 replied, "I have only one wife ..." and he left Japan without saying goodbye
Years passed, it was about World War II, many people had died, including かをる's husband, will かをる re-united with 惣吉? The drama didn't mention anything. In the last episode, World War II was finished, it was 1945, 惣吉 met かをる in front of かをる's husband grave ...

The above is only a very brief info as the whole drama is about 2300 mins. It was first broadcasted in the 1980s/1990s and have DVD in 2007 (but not available in my city), but with the great invention -- internet :D, of course, I have ways to watch it online.
This drama brings lots of memory to me, because when I first watched it on TV, I am a kid only, but after many years, I still remember this drama. I bought the book later on, and I wrote a book report (a monthly task required by my school), I wrote more than 20 pages about this book, most of them are my comments ... I feel sorry for it, the whole story, what a pity

I hope somebody will post the whole drama on youtube one day, because I have difficulties to download it from other website as they always required people to install some programs first, I am unwilling to do risky things
