@a504criminal you dont do your own repairs when you rent. Also I thought the highrise was for older folks like the guste hi-rise by the melph? Have you ever heard of HANO? THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO REPAIR FEDERAL HOUSING NOT TENANTS. As for cleaning up many residents did work for hano picking up litter. To bring up litter in the dirtiest city in America is stupid. Just say the building fell out of disrepair like many other 50+ years apt. complexes.

look here you bigheaded ignorant fool, JoEllen Smith was murdered in the Fischer over thirty five years ago and it had nothing to with the decision to demolish the high rise, they chose to demolish it because the people that lived in it couldn't keep the building in any state of repair, they couldn't clean up after themselves and could control their children turning it into a war zone for crack-heads..

...I AM TRULY SORRY THEY TORE IT DOWN, because when it was there we all knew where the problem was, now that it is gone the problem has been spread out among the rest of the community causing havoc.
