This is the course video of the Tour of Mt. Nebo bicycle race scheduled for on Saturday June 11, 2011. This 9-mile circuit features 600 feet of climbing per lap making it one of the toughest courses in the USA. VeloNews Magazine described it as must do race in their 2009 Rider's Guide. Ride Magazine called it one of the top 10 races in the country.

Mt. Nebo is in Martic Twp. in the southern part of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, USA. The hills of the course are known as the river hills due to the proximity to the Susquehanna River. Martic Twp. was formed in 1729 along with the county. The majority of the early settlers in Martic were Germans, from Hesse-Darmstadt. The section of the township along the Susquehanna river south of the mouth of the Pequea was settled by Scotch-Irish emigrants, the Clarks, McCrearys and Reeds coming in the early decades of the eighteenth century, they and the Neels (Neils) taking up nearly all the land from the river to and including what became known as Mt. Nebo. (Excerpt from the History of Lancaster County by Dr. Frederick Klein, 1924)
The music for this video is one of the great pairings in popular music. Can I Change Mind is Roy Buchanan on guitar and Pittsburgh's Billy Price on vocals.
I had the pleasure of booking both of these artists at Chameleon Club several times. I still remember drinking with Roy until 6 a.m. Roy passed away in 1988.
This version is available on Roy's album Live Stock.
I found it on I-tunes. I'm sure it is other places too.
Roy Buchanan was a monster on the Telecaster. If you like blues and great guitar, do yourself a favor and check him out.
Billy Price is still singing and has albums out too.
Support great music and great bicycle races.
