Cane Bay, St. Croix Virgin Islands

@lionshare100 Cane Bay is not the place to learn to snorkel, unless you stay close to shore. The surf can get to 3 or 4 ft. and the currents are quite strong. It is however, one of the best places in the world for experienced snorkelers and divers. The Wall is maybe a quarter-mile off shore. The Wall is where the water depth plunges from 40 ft. to 10,000 ft. It is a very eerie feeling looking down into the darkness, knowing there is nearly 2 miles of water below you.

Snorkeling looks fun but is it safe? I've always wanted to try it but I'm afraid of going out into the open ocean. Do they have Coast Guard or life guard boats on duty? Anyway, another fantastic video.
