SADX: How Fast should Sonic the Hedgehog go?

Ever since Sonic made the transition to 3D, people questioned how fast he should go. The tv shows make him seem incredibly fast, but the games appear to make him slower. If you pay attention, you'd notice that Sonic appears to be getting slower each game (with Sonic Unleashed being the exception). Thanks to Sonicfreak94's SADX level hacking skills, I was able to make Sonic the Hedgehog amazingly fast like he should be. The hack replaces most of the item capsules with Speed Shoes Capsules. SF94 discovered that getting at another pair of speed shoes while using the first one makes the effects last the whole level (or until you die), plus, if you continue to get more than you get EVEN FASTER. About 15-17 Speed Shoes capsules are in the level and you'll see how fast Sonic the Hedgehog is meant to be.
I will try to get SF94 to release the level hack as soon as possible. Pester him for the link. Level hack, Metallic Skin, and Beach PVM edits made by SF94.

The boost plates are probably slowing him down at the part with the whale. Each one launches him off at a set speed, but the small gaps in between where he is not in "boost mode" are where he can be sped up (time-attackers will do Spin Dashes at that point). Overall, the effect is minor. (IIRC, the part with the jump ramp should be a bit more of a close call in a non-hacked game.)
