this was very beautiful to watch, the girl singing expresses mood so well, i know now we are all so sad. Maybe next seaon papa eagle will return to this very nest with a new mate, We will rejoice ! For now the 3 eaglets are safe and the papa eagle must move on. H e picks up the fish to fly off.. to a future somewhere w/o his beautiful mate.

This was the second time he was back at the nest. The first time he came back, he was there for over 20 minutes. As heartbreaking as this video here is to watch, the first time he came back was ten times worse for me. He stayed longer, looked more confused, and even looked like he was calling out to his family.

That male is a beautiful, magnificent bird! Altho the Wildlife Center took his 3 babies, both this male and his offspring will fare far better. The little eaglets are doing so well in their temporary home! WCV has a webcam on the babies. One is perching on the edge of the nest they created, and I suspect she will try fly-jumping to one of the 'steps' they put in the enclosure. I guess they'll be released in August near Chesapeak. GOD SPEED, Kids!

This was the last time I saw DAD, I missed the very last time he came back before dark, and the cam was turned off. This song goes so well with what looked like-- dad looking one final time for his family and beginning to realize they weren't going to be there anymore, when he took the fish and looked around one last time then flew away. Brings tears to my eyes and a lump in my throat.

Grandaughter Faith your singing made the video of papa saying goodbye to the nest so much more poignant. My heart is breaking for this eagle family. I am glad the trhee babies are doing well at the wildcare bird rehab place...I feel sad for this lonely eagle, perhaps soon he will find another mate....He is a wonderful papa.

I can't believe it yet that our beloved Mother Eagle is gone.

I pray for Dad's healing and a new happy life once more.

Thank you for posting this video, Ann. I am grieving so much for all of them. Please consider leaving up this video. It's so helpful to see our daddy eagle dealing with that empty nest by picking up the leftover food and leaving with it. It's proof that his life will go on. He would dishonor his character and his family to do otherwise. If he can bear this, then so can we.

Annsva ... Please leave it up. I saw this yesterday LIVE and it made me cry and of course, seeing this made me cry. We all have to move on with our lives, as does Dad. Your tribute, along with your granddaughter's song, was absolutely beautiful. Crying and mourning is part of moving on. I think your posting means a lot to a great many people.

Be kind enough to leave this video up. It is painful but it touches our hearts. Tells the story of a wonderful father eagle who lost his whole family & how, perhaps in an eagle way, moves on. It helped me to watch it live on the NBG cam & having this video to see over & over again reinforces the fact that life goes on. Painfully. Perhaps when we can see him return with a new mate, then take it down. A joyous day that will be.

Faith's voice is just the perfect addition. Thank her for us!
