In this video I'm showing some of the sounds you can get out of a Xaviere XV-870 Strat Clone.

The amp I used is a Orange Tiny Terror Combo.

Unfortunately, the battery of my cam was dying during the making of the video. It only lasted around half a minute and then I had to turn it off for a while and turn it on again to make it work for another minute. Piece of crap! Argh!

  • well, by the time I bought it I just wanted a strat for it's clean sounds, to record some parts and stuff, but not as my main guitar.

  • How good is this exactly?

Good as a mim fender strat?

    Is it good quality/tuners/etc?

  • it's an OK guitar and really great for the price. I'm sure that there are some mim strats out there that are better than the Xaviere, but more expensive

  • very nice hows the neck

  • The neck is quite nice. Not as thin as the usual Squire or Fender neck they sell these days, which is good IMO.

  • Made in America is not what it use to be..There is absolutely nothing wrong with this guitar..I'll take an Agile Les Paul over an over priced Gibson anyday.

  • You don't need an MIA guitar to get good sounds from a guitar. The Xaviere's are decent guitars. Alnico Pickups, full size blocks, vintage spaced trem units. A good player can make any guitar sound good through a decent amp. Its about what you can do with your hands not the tool

  • Nice guitar i am thinking of buying one to replace my old strat-is the body as thick as a Fender?

    Nice job with the demo

  • @smoss469 yes, it had a standard wiring

  • How are the tone controls wired on these? Neck/Middle like normal?

  • @JeremiahPaddock thanks a lot

I sold this guitar when I decided to build my Warmoth, since I won't need 2 strat type of guitars

the radius was a bit bigger than most strats as far as I can remember, but it felt alright.

yes, these sound ok and are definitely usable

  • @6gpower mine had a normal strat weight, but they surely have lighter and heavier ones

MIM are probably better, I agree

  • 0:45 Walk, Don't Run!!

  • I really enjoy your vids (and found them from searching for this guitar awhile ago). I esp. enjoyed the warmoth guitar build (brave drilling my friend), and your freak camp vid. Just wanted to ask if you kept/still played this guitar. I'm looking for a beater strat for carrying around between work/school/home/practice space and read that this had a 12" radius, which I like more than the standard Squier 9.5. I do some composing/recording at school so I would like something that sounds okay!

  • Just sent the fiesta red one back. The day i got it.

It had a swimming pool route. The guitar for the money over all, was not bad but honestly, besides the body having a not so strat shape and weighing a ton, it was not worth the money. They are not better than MIM Strats. for almost 200 or just a bit more, I would buy a Vibe strat or tele or an MIM used. On the plus side, you can buy a mighty mite neck and get all the PU's and parts from GFS and that would be a great investment..JMHO...

  • @dave1sfx might be true ;)
