I love this video! I am planning on studying abroad in Fall 2012! Now I am so excited! I hope this year flies by! I am going through AIFS.. what program did you go through?

what abroad program did you go with??

I've also heard that it's harder to learn Spanish in Barcelona... is this true? I'm already pretty fluent in Spanish but I would still like to improve as much as I can

I love this!! I just finished a semester in Barca, and you definitely did a great job of capturing the essence of the city. :) What a fun place to be!!!

@samanthak13 Unfortunately EVERYTHING changed the last few months. Because I'm trying to learn Spanish, my advisor suggested that Barcelona would not give me the best learning environment for Spanish because they speak so much Catalán.. I'm planning on studying in Madrid in Fall '11 :/ But I'm definitely going to make a Barcelona trip a priority while I'm abroad!

awesome video im studying abroad in barcelona this spring and this video just got me so pumped. it looks so much fun
They speak Catalan, it's a different dialect that sounds like a mixture of Spanish and French. They use a ton of "X's and Q's" You'll be fine speaking Spanish. I was terrible at first, but people understood me and being an American that tries is golden to them.

Sorry for getting Back to all of you so late, but Barcelona is definitely a blast.
Things to check out:
Clubs- Razmatazz, Otto Zutz, Opium.....there are others, but those are my favorites
In terms of tourism and trips, i recommend just asking your program coordinator or getting a book because there's soooooo much to do. Even after being there for four months I still haven't seen everything.
My word of advice is to do as much, don't be shy, and indulge in their beautiful culture!
