  • Parenti is right on the money when he lists the economic reasons for the U.S. govt. to go to war with Iraq. Before the war about 90% of it's economy was public sector, during the war under the new dictatorship of Paul Bremer and the Coalition Provisional Authority (and they were dictators, they had immunity) Iraq became the most open economy in the world with 15% flat taxes!. Privitization, derregulation, third worldization...

  • kuddlemeister great wealth is created by Wars for those that reap the rewards yet do not have to pay the price. The price of the war against Iraq will be payed partly by the American people four trillion dollars so far. That is about $4million for each of the $1million Iraqi men women and children killed by our soldiers for the Bush Chaney scumbags.

  • kuddlemeister will never learn...he is predetermined in his attempts at drawing any type of pragmatic, reality based conclusion...oh well...

  • by definition...like when you put your hand in the bath tub the water is displaced...

  • 21 billionaires? Aww.. you believe in the trickle down theory. You're right, they do hire people.. for fifteen cents an hour. I suspect those billionaires keep their money is Swiss bank accounts.

  • This comment section is for discussing the video, which is full of Dr. Parenti's arguments. If you want to challenge the points he is making than do so.

Wealth creates poverty in the world when it is divided up unequally to an extreme, that's how they're related as said in video. Is this not obvious and basic.

How do you fail to comprehend this??

  • Examples of land-based empires include the Mongol Empire, a large empire stretching from the Western Pacific to Eastern Europe, the Empire of Alexander the Great, the Umayyad Caliphate, the Persian Empire, the Roman Empire, the Byzantine Empire. The Ottoman Empire was created across Mediterranean, North Africa and into Southern Europe and existed during the time of European colonization of the other parts of the world.

  • The historical phenomenon of colonisation is one that stretches around the globe and across time, including such disparate peoples as the Hittites, the Incas and the British, although the term colonialism is normally used with reference to European overseas empires rather than land-based empires, European or otherwise, which are better described by the term imperialism.
