Does anyone have a method for removing the bass drum O (male side) intact and without damaging the head? I wanna put a band logo over the head and then put the O back in. The sticker covers the whole bass drum head so removing the O is needed.
I just ordered in a 6" Black Bass Drum O to go on my clear resonant. I have to admit though -- I'm considering going ringing the shop and saying "Scratch that! I want two chrome 4" O's!".
Anyway, that aside I already own the Bass Drum O cutter. Regardless of whether you are buying a BDO or not I would recommend getting this tool. It's a couple of bucks and lets you cut some really nice holes in your heads very easily!
Alright, your instructions on this video AND on the package are completely different. My biggest problem was that I needed the male ring to fit on the female one. (Pardon my french) IT WAS FUCKING FRUSTRATING!!! By the time I got the ring to fit inside, it fell off when I went to install it. Now, the female ring is broken and all I'm trying to do is super glue the ring on the bass drum because it keeps falling off. I really hope you look into this and find an easier way to install your product
Why is everyone having a problem with these?? U have to cut the plastic to get it to fit, won't fit with both adhesives, female ring breaks. Seriously, it took me 15min to cut my holes and install 2 drum o's and I didn't have a single problem. There just snap rings
Ok, so why the hell on my bass drum "O" packaging did it instruct me to put the female part on first and you say put he male on first, what a bunch of idiots.
i bought these and did exactly what you did with a flathead. the female ring cracked. tried it with a different bass drum o, and that one cracked too. very very clean crack and exactly in the same spot as the previous one right between the words "O's" and "model" as if it was supposed to crack. i think you guys got a product defect on your hands. i was very gentle with it. by the way i am very very angry since my brand new bass drum head is broken. $64 total down the drain. im not rich. thanx
Thanks for this.. I was gonna take it back to Guitar Center and make the slacker retard that sold me this thing eat it. The instructions are vague. You need to specify that the female ring fits into a groove on the male side collar. Unless you are an eagle, you can't see the groove on the black version of this without looking for it. It goes on fine after you understand how it works. Now to see if it holds up and doesn't mess with the sound.
@kevystead You're screwed bro haha
