Ex-Governor Ted Strickland stopped by for a minute outside the Ohio Statehouse to help rally those who had come to oppose passage of a Ohio State Senate bill aimed at ending collective bargaining. I missed the part where Ted mentioned that the Republicans were using the economic recession to push through their strategy of eroding workers rights. It made me think that we are experiencing what Naomi Klein refers to as the "Shock Doctrine". Good speeches always inspire more than is said.

  • I stand in solidarity with the workers in Ohio. Koch and Kasich are crooks!! Get the recall petition ready and sign it. Kasich does not care about you, he is only beholden to the Koch and others like them. This is union busting and Kasich is a liar!!!!

Daughter of a union guy and wife of a union guy.

  • @kansasdem1 I share your sense of solidarity. Even though polls show that Kasich's popularity has tanked, we have no recall provision in Ohio as exists in Wisconsin. Instead the anti-collective bargaining features of SB5 may come up in a referendum. Different tactics in the same fight to defend the middle class against the Republican governors and the Kochs.
