After finding out that two IC&E GP9's were going to be taking the B73 Local back to Nahant Yard on the Nitrin Sub. (after switching Ceffco and 3M), a group of railfans, including myself, raced up to Cordova, IL and waited many hours to capture the nostalgic action...

And, here are the results of hours of waiting: a 27-car train pulled by two 50-year-old, unmodified, "new cast" Nathan P135R24-equipped EMD GP9's, down the all jointed rail, fromer MILW Nitrin Branch.

  • Hey Great video! &THANK YOU for panning the camera to follow the action. Too often rainfan photographers set up their cameras and let the train come at them but never pan to follow the loco as it passed by.

    Anyway, good work!

  • @ILSRWY4 Thank you very much! Glad you liked it.
