Internal jugular vein is commonly used for central venous access. This video shows how it is done via the Seldinger technique.

  • Thanks. Great video. Interesting to see as there is no ultrasound help.

  • @shaunakdass Thank you! Palpating the carotid pulse, the introducer needle is directed on a virtual line from the angle of the mandible to the ipsilateral nipple, puncturing from the anterior margin of the sternocleidomastoid muscle. We never need to use ultrasound guidance.

  • Hey may be you have inserted catheter more than 15 cm ,which is routinely advised.

  • @neerajbhaban7 Yes, we routinely advance the double lumen central venous lines more than 15 cm, but try not into the right atrium.

  • Fascinating how fast he is!

  • @whcscomlat Mrs. Deniz Demir Dirican is our cardiac surgery anesthesia specialist, and she is incredibly fast in what she does. Thank you!
