Marc Jacobs the Early Years: Spring '88

The budding genius of New York Fashion, here is 22 year old Marc Jacobs in his early years. One of several show videos I made for him over the course of 4 years, and before he became FAMOUS -but certainly on his way by this time.
Made in 1987 in the original tiny little showroom on 7th Ave., and about a year and a half before he signed on with Perry Ellis(and the BIG TIME). See Christie Turlington who was then only about 17years old! The first few shows I had to shoot on 16MM film as we had no money and I was able to use my allotment from NYU film school. On two occasions Marc and I edited the film together, and eventually switch to Beta-SP, SVHS and Hi-8 formats. For me it was very exciting to go to Bergdorf Goodman's, on 5th Avenue, and see the shows playing on a monitor continuously.
