Special Effects for a Flash Video Game Tutorial Part 1

So I wanted to make a special effect, for my flash game, and I need it to be in a 'sprite sheet' format, but I wanted it to be animated, first to test to see if animation worked in my engine, second to see if it was fast (It does, and it is)

Yes, but it doesn't have to be. The end product that I got from this, was a simple transparency enabled png. Which I happen to reuse in a flash game. But really I only did this in flash, because it was the fastest way I could think to do this effect.

the game which ur making the effect for is that flash as well? i assume yes.

Adobe Flash CS3 Is what I used. This youtube video is being played inside of Flash as well. :) Flash is everywhere, which is why I use it.
