May I respond to your comments? First I started Auto Cross in the mid-late 60's with a 65 Chevelle then my 65 GTO and continued on when I got my 70 Vette & 73 Vette. I also did Drag's & SCCA and in recent years NASA racing (Camaro-Mustang Challenge). Point is I do not consider Auto Cross a "weenie" sport as it is driving skills not found in most of todays driver's. If you lived in the San Francisco Bay Area you would know about the lack of driving skills in people here everyday.

@ :38 when he tries 2 close the hood,,,,eeerrrr wrond side! great car!!!

@RichardEllisxyz I wouldn't call it "weenie". Some auto cross regulars are pretty damn good drivers. And if anything, you will learn tons more about your car on a solid day of auto x instead of the track. The skills you learn in auto x translate directly to what you will experience on the street.

Damn!! I miss doing this :( I used to have an 1989 Vette, and I went auto crossing pretty frequently. C4's are still some of the best vettes out there. Adjustable shocks, 6 speed tranny, 5 link rear suspension, double wishbone up front, 340 torque, quick steer ratios, HD radiator etc.. I miss my 89.

bah.. its an automatic!

he wouldnt know that you dont risk a vette since hes never had one

While most people don't have the skills to run fast on a track, most of the people who bother to try, do. Besides, you don't need to be a pro to drive on a track You just go to a track day clinic event, bring a decent car, and spend a day with a volunteer instructor. Within a few hours, you're going around the track far faster than most "individuals" can right away.

Where is the thrill..the danger?..oops, I hit a cone...LOOK OUT, GONNA DIE!, Please! Seen Blonde secretaries cuttin' thru a parking lot with their Beemers late to their nail appointments faster & more "lethal" than that...at least they run the risk of sliding into that parked Rolls.

it's just a guy making a timed run on a "homemade" track.
Why should he risk his car?

Great vid! Random question - but is the colour of that 'Vette torch red?
Anyway, top marks - loved it!

Don't know. We made this video in 03 or 04 and don't know the owner - aside from talking to him about the car.
Thanks for your comment and check out my channel for more vids like this.
