Divine, stellar. Too bad about the violin crap in there.

simply beautiful...

Too right! Sweet Georgia Brown is a good case in point. It's a completely different song in Anita's hands. It would be wonderful to have that kind of musicality as a vocalist.
-
@AcousticUplift Anita's taste and precision are top notch on whichever song she takes...Her style of improvising and expressing the moment is just way ahead of everybody else - Stella, Honeysuckle rose, tea for two, is you is or is you ain't.., sweet georgia brown, body and soul and many, many more are first class and the definitive renditions.

My goodness. You need help. 'Silly, foolish and ungrateful'? Back at you. Ungrateful to whom? For having a different opinion? The internet makes people say things due to the facelessness of it that they wouldn't be sane enough to say to in person.
-
@AcousticUplift maybe you should listen again, plodding? your silly and foolish and ungrateful

I wish she had lived next door to me. It would have been tea and cakes from me for free every evening, just to listen to and feel that raw emotion this jewel evoked.
What an incredible voice. She is just outstanding.

Roulette grabbed her (and Dinah Washington) away from Mercury and recorded them continually, pumping out L.P.s like mad, way too much for the market to bear. And yet, if you listen to the Roulette albums, they feature the bes tarrangers, the best orchestrators, the best musicians. There is almost no throw away stuff and numerous little known or not-known-at-all gems. After that whirlwind she returned home to Mercury.
