Is it called "Chukuzen" 'cause the plucking sounds like a chicken?

Cool@@

@Obakedake It doesn't feature it really but a central character of the episode: Old Master of the Sea plays it out on the rocks several times in the episode, Metabee calls it a guitar but that's to be expected that they don't bother trying to explain some more culture in an Engilsh dub so I found out on Wikipedia.
I actually figured out it was a 3-String though but the tone, construction and he Plectra he uses are all synonymous with the Chikuzen Biwa, he does make good sound with it.

Thanks. I'll have to Yahoo the biwa and learn more. All I know so far is that it's the same shape as a lake, as they say.

Hilarious how watching Episode 5 of Medabots got me looking up the Chikuzen Biwa.

@Gam3Junkie7 Did that episode feature the Chikuzen biwa? If so I'd be interested in checking it out!

I saw you on Kevin Kmetz's new video and started following links. This is fantastic stuff.
What's the difference between Satsuma Biwa and Chikuzen Biwa?
Hikikomori013 2 years ago
Different tone, different body construction, different playing style and plectrums (the Satsuma is struck percussively with a large plectrum, the Chikuzen is not), one extra string in the case of the Chikuzen biwa (the Satsuma I play is 5-string but it's actually just a doubled 4th string), as well as different schools of music. It's similar to the varieties of shamisen. The plectra are slightly different but the instruments themselves don't vary all too much. It has more to do with the music.

Thanks a lot for your comment! It's long but I love the ending of this song.
