A patriotic and brief look at the Nimitz-class aircraft carriers which frequent San Diego, CA. Also a few clips of my air show footage of the Blue Angels included, because after their two years with the Navy and Marines demonstration team, these ships are where they go back to serve freedom once again.

Six of the ten Nimitz-class carriers shown in this video, on San Diego bay. A concise overview of chosen footage from nearly four years of filming them - Difficult to narrow down what footage to squeeze into three minutes, from hours of archives, from 2007 through 2010.

This film is representative of individual films of each one of these ships, and each are available for public viewing at my YouTube channel.

In order of appearance in this film are:

USS John C. Stennis CVN-74, year 2007 visiting her old home port.

USS Carl Vinson CVN 70 entering her new home for first time. This was just after weeks of providing medical care, food and water to Haiti, after the devastating earthquake.

USS Nimitz CVN-68, whose home port is San Diego for only a few more weeks. (I will be filming her exit for her new home port in Washington state soon.)

USS George Washington CVN-73, disembarking to become stationed in Japan. She had stopped over to load supplies after leaving Washington.

USS Abraham Lincoln CVN-72, deploying just a couple of months ago. This is my most recent film. Please pray for them as they and their strike group will be away this Christmas holiday.

USS Ronald Reagan CVN-76, shown here from earlier in 2010, and also from last year.

The vessel alongside some of these ships, which raises the sixty foot American flag, is the "America", which faithfully and voluntarily gives this grand display.

UPDATE Christmas 2010:
The Supercarrier USS Nimitz CVN-68 left San Diego for Bremerton Washington early December 2010. I posted a film of the departure. This departure from San Diego is permanent. CVN 68 will be in maintenance through 2011. The Navy announced on December 09, 2010, that the USS Nimitz will be based in Everett, Washington, in 2012, following the 2011 tuneup.

  • @Gustav92069 Thanks. After there have been a few more carrier homecomings filmed on my newest 1080p cam, I'll be sure and do just that.

  • : I saw you in the plane. you're a pilot of USA... right ?

In China, there are not allow to post any army force pictures and videos.

you're too lucky guy in USA.

    .

  • @YanStevenUT No, I'm not a pilot, though I enjoy flying with friends who are. Yes, we are lucky, aren't we? From New York and San Diego, we are very lucky. I haven't flown anywhere since early this year, so that had to be someone else on the plane.

    thanks
