Black women are once again under the microscope? Why? Hmm ... ABC did a report saying Black women are not getting married. The main reason given was that we cannot find suitable mates in our own race. People, question the bullshit. And yes, my allergies were acting up! LOL!

Atlantasistah u somethin else. I thought I was an independent thinker. Girl, u is a independent thanker!! And what really got me going, is the fact that my family is getting whiter and whiter. If it keeps going the way it has, I imagine that one day 4 or 5 generations from now, folk will be shocked to find out about the blacks in my family. I don't know if anyone is trying to "push" black women towards dating outside of our race.. As a black man I realize and understand that a lot of my fellow brethren are irresponsible (6 kids with 7 different women) etc, so we as black men need to bear some of the blame for black women not marrying at the same rate as your white counterparts..

I agree with every single thing you said. I really hate that statistics are always divided into racial groups percentages.  I hate that african- american is always compared to whites and what they are doing. We are a minority, at least compare the black racial group to other minorities, hispanics, asian, indian, etc. Media always comparing all minority groups to the white race, when the white race supposedly makes up 70% of the US according to statistics.

I just read an article on CNN that got me thinking and reminded me of this video. Usually when these statistics (if you believe them) are taken, "single" includes women that are in relationships, engaged, divorced, or widowed. It's not that 70% of black women have no insignificant other, it's just that they haven't gotten married (or remarried) yet.

I feel you on the allergies and yeah people put out reports with bias in mind and fudge a lot of material and accounts. They don't take everythin' into consideration. Keep callin' people out on their shit, just remember to stay righteous and not to make the same mistakes as those you call out.
