  • Who was the bastard honking the car horn in the second shot? They should be shot, and not with a cameara.

  • If you look through the still photos inclded on the video there is a shot that shows 844 with a stone barn in the background and a horse tank and the flag in the foreground. According to my son who shot the video. The honking was courtesy of the people in the SUVs in that shot. I really had hoped that the location and shot that I had chosen would be remote enough to avoid such and outcome but alas, idiots are everywhere.....

  • I live just a couple miles southeast of steele city and was excited to watch it go past the crossing on our road a mile south of where you were. I'm sorry that the people there ruined your shot and I will tell you that unfortunately that town is comprised of 75% idiots. Please don't lump your entire opinion of our area in for this incident. While I'm not a real dedicated rail fan I'm always excited to watch living history pass by. Thanks for the documentary.

  • I'm sure the idiots weren't locals... I had originally considered getting these shots at Hollenburg. (We spend a lot of time down there on the family farm) I might have sacrificed the shot with the horse tank etc... but they would have been clean. We looked at it on our way through but with the overcast and rainy look that day it just didn't look as pretty as it might if it had been real sunny so we went for the Steele City shot. Anyway thanks for the nice comments

  • great video! my grandpa was a conductor for UP many many years ago, and lived in fairbury....what year is this train?

  • i gotta ride this!

  • I sure hope you helped that guy fix his horn, and i hope you fixed it for good!

  • Great locomotive...I really like the huge long smoke deflectors. Does anybody know how this class compared with 'Niagras'? (I'm a British fan so don't know much about super-power.) Thanks for posting the video!

  • Cool! Except for the horn people.

  • Excellent video. Thanks for documenting this. Loved the first shot on the bridge with the steam fogging the lens. Would love to have been threre!

  • I was very lucky to get where I was (except for the service stops) it was very quiet and surrounded by "professional" fans who shut up, and not these non-railfan phoamers.
