Gila Monster gas powered bike

My home built gas bike idling after its first successful test ride. It's funny how each of these has its own little personality. The first one we worked on had a persnickety carburetor, and this one's gremlins are in the clutch. They're both working quite well now though, and riding around like dreams.

Looks good. I like the long intake tube. Did you get it from Pistonbikes?

@stopglobalswarming Nope, it's just the stock intake from the kit I got from gasbike.net. Now it's been replaced with some copper elbows from a hardware store, JB Welded together (which looks AWESOME). In retrospect it would have been smarter to put the carb right up against the port as close as possible, then use a tube just to get the air filter out where it fits.

@irondjnetwork A Huffy Karaoke? Personally I wouldn't recommend it as a gas bike building frame. Nothing has fit quite right. My GF built one too, on a Schwinn Delmar, and everything fit *perfectly.*

@ElliottJoby Nah, a longer tube can have benefits for atomization of gasoline, esp the 10% ethanol gas or the E85 crap. Pistonbikes sells an offset intake tube like that for about $10, 1 solid piece so you won't get air leaks or get stranded.
