OMG, whilst holding a Rubik brand cube perfectly still it only locks up a little bit.

I happen to have one exactly like this, where the inner slice can turn without interupting the outer layer. The drawback? Its not because smoothness of the inner layer- its the tightness of the outer layer! I can barely turn it with a full fist clamping it!

i would rather have pops than lock ups..... and the eastsheen center pieces are really cheesy and fall off when speed solving so i glued them all down. and my rubiks 5x5 i did a mod on in so no pops and more flexible.

rubik's pops ALOT... eastsheen pop but alot less often
