Alex gets to meet Lt. General Hal Moore and Sergeant Major Basil Plumley at West Point.

Moore led the 7th Cavalry Regiment in Vietnam and received the Distinquished Service Cross. Plumley made all 4 combat jumps with the 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment in World War II (Sicily, Salerno, D-Day and Market Garden) and one in Korea. He fought with Moore in Vietnam most famously in Ia Drang at Landing Zone X-Ray.

  • It's amazing that Sgt Maj Plumley served in three of the biggest modern wars and survived...we need more men like him and Hal Moore.

  • I would love to meet both Lt. General Hal Moore and Sgt. Maj. Plumley one of these days (doubt I ever will). Those men are living legends. You can read the books and see the movie, but it's still almost incomprehensible to understand what both these men (and many others) went through in Ia Drang.

  • @NikkeinJapan i agree with you its better to them than meeting generals

  • The toughness and "give no ground" attitude of these soldiers is legendary in the US Army. I'd be stoked to meet Sgt. Major Plumley.

  • They sure don't make them like this anymore.

  • imagine plumley. "if any of you call me grandpa....ill kill you"

  • I respec veterans alot!

  • lol man jst let me hold that piece of paper for you :d

  • @iBLUbyYOU2 Wow that was two months ago. get a life!

  • @iBLUbyYOU2 As usual they kept that quiet. Damn them, he was one of the most courageous men our nation has ever seen.

We should be thankful every day for people like him.

  • @iBLUbyYOU2 Hal Moore is still alive as of today, September 23, 2011 . . .

  • @bwmusmc

It's funny because no one hates your kind more than the actual Marines.
