These are the lights I saw in New Jersey on Monday January 5, 2009. It was around 8:30 near Morristown. My friend and I initially thought it was an airplane, but after a few minutes we could clearly see it wasn't an airplane or anything we can explain. The entire formation was rising and dipping as well as making sharp turns which would rule out any floating object. It would hover for a few minutes then suddenly change direction. It did not drift with the wind. It was very high up and eventually took off into the distance. Did anyone else see this??????????? I also took some still shots.

Nice hoax. I just read the Skeptic article myself. Just goes to show how easily these 'sightings' can be faked and how easily they are believed to be aliens as opposed to simply a UFO, by the strictest definition.
Just finished reading the article in Sceptic magazine by Chris Russo and Joe Rudy. Very nicely done. I think it brings the validity of every other UFO case into question as well.
It's of course a natural fenomena, due to Mother Earth are constantly "attacked" by meteorits, asteroids and old space-junk, which are destroyed in space, by Mother Earth !
She protects us and destroy every attack, if it's not a big one like the last one, millions years ago, when the dinasours disappeared ! Be glad for that cause, otherwise, we hadn't existed !!!
Oh boy! I got taken-in over here in U.K a year-or-so ago by similar "Chinese Lanterns"I think there called? or at least that was the explanation given in the Media. WHAT IF-the balloons are a diversion, so any time we see glowing orange objects,we say "oh there goes another balloon"....mind you have you noticed how inhuman many World Leaders LOOK, perhaps the Gene-pool is too far gone!!!
I hope you're kidding, this is a hoax. This very video was filmed by the men who put the ballons into the sky. They had road flares tied to helium-filled ballons
