@TheLordHumungus I wasn't suggesting that saving money in a bank was a good deal. What is startling is that banks actually advertise these instruments. Old ladies walk in thinking that it is 5% on savings, not .5%

with (in my opinion) collapse iminent, it is easy to panic and not make decisions with a cool head-I love the fact you try to keep people on an even keel even though some big shit is coming-keep up the good work

Great point man. I did exactly that for a while. Had to stop obsessing. Keep it up!!

@Meathead36 if that happened by tomorrow morning....WOW....would I ever be selling my Stash! lol

Silver has held it's purchasing power for thousands of years, I have no reason to believe it will lose purchasing power any time soon.

I agree, I don't bother checking silver price anymore. One morning we'll wake up and the price will be $500 overnight. I'm convinced it will happen that quickly.

Yes, Stay strong and keep stacking
What I don't understand about gold and silver is "they" say to stay away from the commemorative coins as they do not hold any true value. For example the 2012 buffalo coin that's seen on tv and what not. According to the site, ads, etc they are legitimate silver/gold...but when I read up on it I see to stay away from em. Any thoughts?

they are real silver and gold, they are just more expensive than they should be based on how much actual metal is in them, simply because they are a 'collectors item".
So a $1500 coin may only have $1000 worth of gold in it or something like that. Stay away from the 'collectibles' and stick with the bullion.

$1000cd left in for 12 month at .5% interest and your return won't even buy roast beef sandwich.

With inflation at over 3% officially, and more like 6-9% in reality, most people are actually losing purchasing power with their 'investments' even when they think they are making a modest percentage.
