Frederic Chopin composed this unique piece for piano, the Ballade in G minor, in 1835-36. Schumann wrote of this work, that is "one of [Chopin's] wildest and most idiosyncratic compositions". Indeed, this revolutionary piece of music does not fit with the idea that Chopin wrote salon music. We can feel through this work both his nobility and wild craziness...

Chopin was born in Poland in 1810. He recieved musical education in the tradition of Bach, Beethoven and Mozart, who deeply admired. However, this "gentle, harmonious genius", according to Liszt, soon developed a voice of his own, marked by romantic attitude and lyric sensitivity. He composed exclusively for piano. Among others he wrote 2 piano concertos, 3 sonatas, etudes, waltzes, nocturnes, polonaises, scherzi, mazurkas and ballades. He died in 1849.

  • very nice rendition of this piece!!!! Congratulations!!!! And thank you for sharing it with us!!!!

  • jednorekikabajero - the pianist, not the composer.

  • @kasyapa Fryderyk Chopin

  • who is the pianist? and what else do you plan to put up on the channel? :)

  • Actually, he didn't compose exclusively for the piano. There are a few cello sonatas, chamber works, and a few vocal compositions.

  • As you say rightly this is not a piece of salon music, and I like the power and passion you put in this work.

Maybe you should take more time to play what is before the coda (the Piu animato is a bit too fast for me) in order to bring out all the cataclysmic power of this presto con fuoco.

  • Thank you for invitation to listen your performance! Very nice, sincere, and overall excellent execution! Considering that it is a public recital, - even more impressive.

If I had to criticize your playing, I'd mention somewhat similar rubato/intonation at the beginning of each phrase in the main theme. The rest is really good! Congratulations!

    5 stars! ;)
