@jkennedy561 Pretty much. I'm sure it's happened more than once. This is great footage though.

@starwars778083 Aeroelastic flutter? no?

This is real.
For a single moment, the wind was in resonance with the bridge. The odds of this happening are slim to none, but it happened.
-
Standing torsional waves. I saw this film in undergrad physics.
-
the guy on the bridge was the designer. he later committed suicide, knowing he would never work again.

@EdgarFroez It is a simple scientific principal, everything is made of frequency, the vibration on the wires at a rate that matched the frequency of the bridge. If you go back in the bible you will read about the walls of Jerico crumbling from the sound of many horns, it was he same principle. The coral castle was build with stone that weighed tons and lifted and moved into place with the same principal... look to the past, the ancients used this knowledge extensively.

@EdgarFroez I am not wrong, I know for sure, that the bridge was not too solid, lol, just look at how much it is bending, I know for sure it was a standing wave. Did you know that because of this phenomena that soldiers to this day are NOT allowed to march across bridges, they have to walk, because the stamping of feet by many on a bridge has also caused a standing wave on bridge that collapsed just like this one. IT IS FACT.

@TheUltimateScripts My dad said that it really happened too. I thought it was kinda rediculous looking but nope. Really did happen.
RIP Tubby, the 3 legged dog.
