Oh, and I don't like the idea of dual-booting. As well as games, I do everything else in Windows, which includes playing media files that use proprietary codecs. I've never owned a console - as games would need replacing with each new one, and besides it's just another machine to have. So Windows does everything then. If a Linux distro appears that can do everything, then I may just switch. But until then, partial compatability is no substitute.

I've been keeping an eye on Linux for several years - even played around with a few out of curiousity, including a previous version of this one. However, my PC is first and foremost a games machine. I've a library of games from the 90's to today. Even my 8-bit and later Amiga games are residing on my hard drive. I've seen Wine and it's good for getting a few games to work in some distros and another few in others. I'll stick with XP for my games, as a lot of it's features were removed in Win 7.

Guess what distros this is knock-off of.
linux looks good, but u cant get games and other stuff, it copied both mac and windows, linux and vmac suck, windows 7 is the best

@MrOwner1997 It all depends on your needs. For me, Linux is the best. For your needs windows 7 seems to be the best.

Hmm... no voice?
To me pclinuxos is bloated and filled with lots of software... Plus they have many editions and don't have a 64bit version. (which is vital imo)

@KingHerring No voice because I don't want to ramble on. Short annotations do the job as well. Have you tried the minime edition? It weighs 200mb less than the real version. Why do you need a 64 bit version? pae kernels allow you to use up to 64 gb of RAM with 32 bit kernels. And you won't be able to use a lot of software with 64 bits. Mandriva is a great distro with a 64 bit edition available.

@anchorschmidt I like 64bit because of the minor speed advantage. Even if 64bit versions make a small difference I still want it. :)
Plus I don't know what you're talking about... 99% of software works great on 64bit.
Also, I like mandriva but to be honest they lack some things like a good software manager and their company hasn't been going well.

@KingHerring If you would still like a 64 bit KDE then I guess Opensuse is a great choice.
