source recorder doesnt lag because it does not record your screen it records like the acctual source. it is very difficult to explain. fraps is practically a screen window recorder

To be honest.

Fraps is faster if your computer is.

Still, In-game recorders is still better.

@DominicHax Actually, having used Source Recorder tons, I can honestly say that while using Source Recorder, the game runs at full frames. Any other questions/misconceptions?

@4232267 It's because the source engine is actually pretty powerful but the texture sizes for it are outdated and thats why it is considered "old" or "bad".
