Two For The Road You will definitely need to watch in high quality mode to read the notation and comments
http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=Iq4v7gGVyAs&fmt=18 or better still, download the exceelent quality version at http://www.bushgrafts.com .
This is my most ambitious tutorial - in fact I think that I tried to crowd too much into it. Unfortunately, the annotations are small and very diificult to read.
The best solution is to download (free) the version at http://www.bushgrafts.com If this file is too big (nearly 50 Mb), you might consider my DVD (details on the website) which has over 10 hours of instructional video, nearly 180 full transcriptions, backing tracks, 300 or so annotated jazz midi files. With this in your computer's DVD/CD drive, all of these are instantly available.

  • Hi Doug,

On You Tube I have been stuck on Jazz2511, I've started piano from scratch 2 years ago. I am light years from your caliber of play. My problem is I need you to take the time and break down into small chunks showing what it is that you do so well. My left hand is non existent, rhythm needs work. I know most chords and/or know how to find them. Although I understand what it is you do, I think your pace for me at least is too fast. Please Doug take time and explain how in a slower tempo.

  • @hrtrekker Thanks for your comments.

I would suggest that you download the video from my website (address in information above) and use either Windows Media Player (Control/Shift/S) to slow down the video, or for MAC owners, if using apple Quicktime player (with the free add-on 'flip4mac') access the 'Window' drop-down menu on the top line and choose 'Show A/V controls' to change video speed to 1/2 time.

  • Hi Doug, great feeling. I like the syncopated time you use with your left hand, reminds me of the style of the great M.Petrucciani.

  • LOVE this! You're just so good!

  • Hé Doug, your style has changed !!

in the same way as lot2learn did

More staccato right hand and left hand big time more swinging

    -

    555 stars, . . . if I may . . .

    ps

. . .and it's not in the accompagnement

even : it's malgré that midi bass.

If you had a good walking bass

at your side the total would have been a Masterpiece.

  • I so much enjoyed this Doug..A great song and you did it so well. It has a great flow to it, exception runs/arpegios. I like the 'floating' touch you give to this Mancini piece. It takes other musicians to really appreciate what's going on with your intentions. Your so far away, but always so close to our hearts...thanks again.
