Tribus Del Sol in Motherwell 1 nov 09

Tribus Del Sol (Tribes [or People?] of the Sun I think). An excellent Group of musicians who play traditional Native American music. I believe they are from South America possibly Peruvian. Though I don't think it matters, but I'm inclined to think they are South American natives.

One other reason why it's not important where they are from is because their music is distinctly Native American folk music and people that know me will know that I love folk music from all over the world.

Well, one dreary August day last year I happened to be up to Motherwell Town Centre and heard the familiar Panpipes and Native American Flutes. I had my camera with me, and so I decided to spend a couple of minutes recording these guys play. Apart from what I recorded, they played some other excellent stuff and could have stood there all day listening to them brighten up my day.

Simply having had the privilege of hearing them play was enough to make me walk around for days with a smug smile on my face because I had been in the presence of something indescribably beautiful. Rustic sure and possibly some polish needed, but I'm not the man with the ability to advise these gentlemen on how to improve what they are doing.

Well, I misplaced the memory card and so was unable to experience them again until several weeks, maybe months later when they had returned once more and this time I wrote their name down on a piece of paper. I didn't have my camera with me, but I now knew how I would be able to find out more about them.

I don't expect everyone to experience these guys and appreciate them nearly as much as I do but if you like them at all then drop a few coins in their case, and if you can, buy yourself a CD. I was skint myself on both occasions I happened upon them. However, their Music can be bought on-line I'm sure if you google "Tribus Del Sol" and you can be sure I will be buying one or two CD's for myself.

Another thing, my camera video did not even begin to do this guys' justice. They sound brilliant live and I know they would be breathtaking in a studio of a hall. Get them booked for a wedding or some kind of event for something different. I know you won't be disappointed. They had a great reaction from the shoppers passing by and stopping to listen on the two occasions, I was lucky enough to have seen them.
