This is the greenhouse portion of the Living with the Land ride at Epcot in Orlando, Florida. The greenhouses have a whole lot of really cool experimental plants like giant pumpkin trees and tomato trees, as well as lots of hydroponics

  • Genetically engineered food? Not for me, thanks.

  • Just in case you don't realize, every food you eat is genetically engineered. It all isn't necessary high tech modification, but it is still mixing the genetics of multiple organisms to get a more desirable plant. There is virtually no plant that you eat that ever existed in the wild.

The genetic manipulation and alteration of crops is a fascinating concept, but I have read reports that would recommend that combining the genes of plants and animals, to produce crops, creates new proteins that our bodies are not able to digest and there is a potential for adverse effects. This is a very nice facility. Hydroponics and aeroponics are certainly able to produce high yields. I am skeptical of the genetic alteration and combination of genes of plants and animals.

  • @woofboy111 cross breeding is not the same as genitically engineered food. cross breeding(hybrids) happen even in the wild(naturally), but genetically engineered is when scientist mess with the plants genetics. look it up some time.

  • Wow. See bootheglobalperspectives, video on Greenhouses and social and economic impact. Ben

yeah, but they weren't sliced with animal dna.

  • does anyone know where i could find the guitar song that plays when your inside of the barn??

  • Alternating crops is not the future. It is imperical that food is grown the normal way, as generation of farmers have done . Cause if we change this way of growing food, we too change the way of the enviornment. Which in retrospect is not good for our enviorment.

  • @happytime64 thanks, i needed to know that

  • @mikedeceptacon 30 times? are you posting on behalf of Monsanto?
