Anyone who has a REAL fervor for music KNOWS that this is a POWERFUL album. I'm 41 years of age and a musician. When I first purchased this album I was 14 or 15, nonetheless......IT CHANGED MY LIFE! The music created on this album is so raw, so inspired of the Genius named MILES. Its a shame it never got it just due, but musicians the world over are embracing the period of Miles and making his music live on. THANK GOD.

i can remember when i first bought this double disk in 2003ish, the opening bass notes were intantaneous focused ears on the fluid bass by henderson was what i was after. henderson is one big influence in my bass likeings. cant stand the typical not beyond the 5th fret type of bass playing. greats play it like a guitar!!!

Man, I bought this album when it first came out, and wore it and three more albums out after that. There is nothing, never has been anything like this album. After the vocalizations, when the band seems to rise back out of a steaming caldron of stew, well, nothing compares. Miles blurry shaking runs around the 3 minute mark may have been inspired by david liebmans playing...although David is not on this. The tune, What I say, on this album, is incredible.
Finally the greatest album that Miles Davis ever made it's brought to light to be enjoyed by everybody. It's a pitty that music "industry" became such a money driven business that uneducates people with massive broadcasting of "junk" music wich besides being made by machinery it's conceptually repetitive and boring, childish and even musicians craftsmanship it's lost.
