Ah, I remember those days. It's nice to know things haven't changed. LOL For the girls asking if it's worth it to go en pointe...if it wasn't worth it, we wouldn't be doing it. Also, it becomes less painful with time, at least in my experience (except when breaking in new shoes).

How many years does it take to go on pointe?Also I am 13 and i am starting beginning ballet in the fall.

I just started pointe and it doesn't hurt or give me blisters! It might be because i weigh 75 pounds at the age of 15!!! :)

but at my skool u go on pointe at gr 6 and im just starting gr 5!!!!!!

i'm 14 and going on pointe tomorrow. i only take one class a week but its for 2 hours. my dance teacher said we will start doing to classes beginning in feb. only because i do ballet, pointe, tap, modern/lyrical,hip-hop, jazz, and African. its really hard to fit it into one class.

Okay so I just got my first pair of pointe shoes.
They are russian pointe "pollete", which I see not that many people have.
They are size 39 width 2 vamp 2.
can anyone tell me their experience with pointe? and also if you have russian pointes please please tell me about them.

Yes, you will injure yourself. Do not go en pointe without proper training and permission from a professional dance teacher.
