Belize Trip: Amergris Caye, San Pedro Town March 2009

I decided in the midst of a dreary winter to go somewhere tropical. So a week later I was off to blue waters, palm trees and the kindness of the Belize people! (And of course I took my Steve with me!)
We recommend Ruby's Hotel. It was simple lodging, but clean with character and around 40.00 a night. Nothing fancy, but it suited us just fine!
"The Handsome Guy" is whom we rented bikes from... (That is what he is known on the Island as... Ask around and they will tell you how to find him!) There are only about three lanes on the main island... It is not to hard to navigate around on. Most people (natives included) ride golf carts (which you can rent) or bicycles or walk... Very few cars.
Maybe you will meet Larry on the docks... and he will teach you how to snorkel if you dont know how... He sells necklaces as well.
There is a great restuarant on the second street. Phooey I cant recommend the name of it, but it is on the north end of the town... Mamas Something.... It looks like a little dive, but Fantastic reasonably priced mouthwatering food!
