I love my 453 too. A real top model of Tektronix in 1960's!

I just bought a 432 and was wondering if it is similar to the 453.

The 432 and the 453 both share the classic Tek look. the 453 is late 60's, the 432 is early 70's vintage. Also the 453 has a 50MHz resolution and the 432 has a 25MHz resolution and is entirely solid state. Google "tektronix 432" for a pdf manual.....

That's neat! I was not real sure how old it was, but I knew it had to be on up in age. I also have a 465 model. do you know what year it is from? I am guessing late 70's but am not sure. That is the one I use.
I got the 432 because it was cheap and I could not pass up the price.
Thanks and great video!

Had a google as well as going thru some documents here. Looks like the 465 dates from 1976-79 era or there abouts. Again google for "tektronix 465", first result, for a pdf manual :)

Its not a microcontroller generating vector grapics at all... Its a compsite video signal played out through a DVD player into a sync seperator LM1881N chip and into the scope's X,Y inputs for raster and Z input for intensity.
It's just like using a scope as a TV really, just with a funky lil video of the riddle :)
